Tips for working

1. Don't take your job personally. A job is only a job and people will go home to their families and personal interest.

2. There is no such thing as job security. The only true way to ensure you have a job is to constantly stay marketable.

3. Your company will go on with or without you. Don't think your company cannot live without you. Your company needs to survive and must be prepared for anything that happens.

4. There is no such thing as employee loyalty. Sometimes, I think there is no such thing as loyalty. Do what is best for you as long as you are doing it failry and ethically. If what is best for you is finding another job, than do just that.

5. Don't offend anyone. Treat everyone with respect. You never know. They might be your boss someday.

6. Stand up for your rights. A company should allow open concept relationships. You should be able to speak your mind as long as it is in appropriate tones.

7. Work hard and enjoy your job. It would be painful to work eight hours a day and not like it. If you don't like your job, look for something else.

8. In this day an age, working a little longer than eight hours is common. If you truly enjoy your job, than you shouldn't have too big of an issue doing that as long as the company is treating you well. Working those extra time seems to impress the boss. Although there has been lawsuits against large corporation for unpaid overtime and you are in your right to not work overtime.

9. Gain more skills. The more marketable you are, the more likely you will get ahead and get better pay.

10. Behave professionally. Image matters in the work force. You do not want to have co-workers talk behind your back and use your personal issues against you in the working world.
